There are many ways to support the market:
Join the Friends
Become a member of the Friends of Brixton Market and help to ensure that Brixton Market is as good as it can be and for the benefit for everyone.
Members help the market by funding our work and contributing to the vision for the market which we present to the council, landlords and the community.
As a member you will:
- be entitled to attend meetings and vote at Annual General Meetings, elect directors and have a say in important decisions
- be able to raise your concerns about the market, shape our vision, and determine which projects and campaigns we undertake
- be invited to attend quarterly members’ events which will feature talks by market traders, food tastings, tours of the market and more
- receive the quarterly FBM newsletter
- receive a membership card

Membership fees
Membership costs £10 a year, or £5 a year for concessions. Concessions are for people with no or limited income (i.e. unemployed, students, pensioners). We will consider others on a case by case basis.
This contributes to FBM's running costs such as printing, room hire for public meetings, development of projects. FBM is a voluntary organisation and no one is paid.
We do not currently offer a concession rate. If you are interested in joining, but require a concession rate, please let us know.
To pay your membership fee, either:
- bring payment to the first meeting you attend
- return the form with a cheque made payable to ‘Friends of Brixton Market’
- use the Paypal button at the top of this page

Come to a meeting
We have regular monthly meetings for people who want to come and help out. If you're interested in seeing what we're up to and taking on a job (big or small), come along.
We also have a big annual public meeting where we show what we've been doing and debate issues.
Volunteer!
There's a range of jobs that need doing - some might take only a few minutes, so if you've got any time, we'd be pleased to hear from you.
Special skills
We need help with publicity, technical advisers, people with good ideas. If you've got any ability in writing press releases or newsletters, design, building or updating websites, get in touch!
Or if your a lawyer, someone who understands planning, who can facilitate workshops, conduct market surveys... who knows what other great things you can do, we might need you sometimes, please get in touch!
Ideas
We're constantly trying to come up with new ways to improve the market, bring us some income to do small projects, find funding, raise awareness. Got an idea? It might be crazy enough to work... please get in touch!

Buy a bag
